Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:13

This is the type of love and dedication shown by every person that has ever worn a military uniform for this great land. When someone raises their right hand and swears to defend this nation against all enemies both foreign and domestic, they do not know for sure what that promise is going to cost them. Some never leave the relative safety and security of the United States, while others are tasked to perform horrible, dangerous missions in far placed destinations that no one should have to do, but someone must do. It may well cost them their health, their freedom or even their very life. But when we raised our right hand, we accepted all the risks that were associated with protecting our nation and our way of life. There was no fine print that said I will serve this nation as long as it is convenient. It was with the full knowledge that anyone of us could be called upon to make that ultimate sacrifice to protect our families, our futures, our way of life and our great country and we accepted this awesome responsibility.  Every Veteran gave something and some gave everything.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All

Whether you are a Veteran that is planning for that event which we know will come for all of us, or whether you are a family member or friend that has lost a loved one that served in the military or they were the spouse of a Veteran that stayed home and kept the home fires burning for when that Veteran would hopefully return home we would like to present two memorial options for you to consider.

American Legion Post 100

Monies donated to Post 100 are mainly used to support projects and activities in the local Hebron area. Post 100 supports local recreational and personal growth activities for the youth of our community. We support patriotic activities such as the U.S. Flags that fly on Main Street, presenting Blue Star Service Banners to the families of those that are now serving and we provide last honors to all veterans that are buried in Hebron. We will support most any worthwhile local activity subject to funds availability. We do make limited donations outside of the community to Veteran related causes, examples of this might be the Veterans Home in Lisbon, providing phone cards to the youth of our community that enlist in the military or are sent overseas to that they can call their families back here at home. American Legion Post 100 is recognized under section 501 (C) (19) of the federal tax code as a Veterans Organization. Contact any officer of our Post if you would like more information or send us an email.

The North Dakota American Legion Foundation

Was established to fund American Legion programs in perpetuity. Since it's founding in 1919 by Veterans of WWI it has always been the mission of The American Legion to promote activities that support the health and well being not only of our fellow Veterans, but also our families, our communities and our way of life. Funds from this foundation support youth activities such as the Boys and Girls State program which promotes knowledge of how our government works. The International Music Camp which brings young students together from all over the world in an environment that allows them to learn and also get to know that we have more in common then we have different. The High School Oratorical contest where students must study our constitution and then give an impromptu speech from an assigned constitutional subject. It supports programs for disabled and disadvantaged Veterans. Donations are also made to The American Legions National Emergency Fund. This is only a small sampling of things supported by this foundation. The North Dakota American Legion Foundation is recognized under section 501 (C) (3) of the Federal Tax Code as a charitable organization. Donations or requests for more information may be directed to: The North Dakota American Legion Foundation at P.O. Box 2666 Fargo, ND 58108-2666, calling them at 701-293-3120 or send an email below.

All donations of any size are appreciated
and will be acknowledged
