Edmund Quintus
April 12th, 1919 - June 26th, 2008
Obituary from Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron

Edmund Quintus,
89, of New Salem and formerly of Hebron, died Thursday, June 26,
2008 in New Salem at the home of his brother and sister-in-law,
Wilfred & Mary Quintus following complications associated with
bladder cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on
Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 10:30 AM Central Time at St. Ann’s
Catholic Church in Hebron. Visitation will begin on Tuesday
after 4:00 PM at the church with Vigil services at 7:00 PM
Central Time. Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Cemetery in Hebron
with military honors by the Henry Biffart Post #100 of the
American Legion.
Edmund was born in the Haymarsh
area April 12, 1919, the son of Anton and Mathilda (Wehri)
Quintus. He was raised on the family farm and educated at St.
Clement’s School. Ed was inducted into the US Army on March 20,
1942 and trained at Camp Barkeley, Texas. He was a member of the
90th TO Infantry Division and was in on the second wave of the
army’s invasion on the Normandy beaches, D-Day in June of 1944.
He fought in the European theatre of war the rest of that year
and into the winter months and the following spring. He was
awarded the bronze star and Purple Heart for valor on the battle
field.
Following his discharge on
Oct.4th, 1945, Edmund returned to the Haymarsh area and farmed
on the family farm with his dad and his brother Norbert. He
would later be in partnership farming with his brother Wilfred,
who also resided on the family farm.
On November 25, 1978 Ed married
Claribel Viestenz at Jamestown. Following marriage they resided
in Hebron. Ed was active in the American Legion of Hebron, The
Brick City Senior Citizens, and was a Fourth Degree in the
Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by one-step
daughter, Virginia Eastley of Alexandria, MN and one-step son,
Stan Viestenz of Fargo, ND. Ed also leaves four-step
grandchildren: Shawn Eastley, Rebecca McAtee, Tracy Potrzebowski
and Dan Ahlers. He is also survived by two sisters, Sr. Marcine
Quintus, OSB, Yankton, SD and Lucille (Leo) Skalsky, Dickinson,
ND as well as two brothers, Norbert (Veronica) Quintus,
Bismarck, ND; and Wilfred (Mary) Quintus, New Salem, ND along
with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
wife, step-daughter Elaine, and one sister, Sr. Anthony Quintus,
OSB.

Ervin Stiller
May 29th, 1925 - September 29th, 2007
Obituary from Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron
Ervin Stiller,
age 82, of Hebron, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at
Medcenter One in Bismarck. Funeral services will be held on
Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM Central Time at the St.
John Church in Hebron. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct.
2, 2007 from 4-8 pm at Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron with a
prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour
prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the St. John
Cemetery with military rites by Henry Biffart Post #100 of which
Ervin was a member for 63 years.
Ervin was born May 29, 1925 at
Eagles Nest, ND, the son of Peter J. and Petrine Maria (Olson)
Stiller. He was baptized at Sims Lutheran Church. He was raised
at Hebron and attended Hebron School and was a 1943 graduate. He
served in the US Naval Air Corp for 2 1/2 years during World War
II. On March 9, 1949 he married Muriel Rehm in Hebron. When the
Korean War broke out Ervin was recalled in to the service for
another 18 months and was awarded the Naval Air Medal. He
returned to Hebron and worked at the Post Office first as a
clerk then for over 30 years as a rural mail carrier and was
awarded the million mile safe driving award. He was a volunteer
fireman, and a lifetime member of the North Dakota Firemen’s
Assn. He served on the City council for many years, was a past
president of the Hebron Credit Union, past Worshipful Master of
the Hebron Masonic Lodge, and member of the St. John Church. In
his spare time he loved flying and working with horses and
cattle
He is survived by his loving wife
of 58 years, Muriel, of Hebron and one son Ross, of Hebron; two
sisters: Verna Monson, Mandan, ND; and Irene Roth of Clarkston,
Wash.; and one brother Melvin, of Carson, CA, and a number of
thoughtful nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, his brothers Thomas, Grover, Lawrence, Donald, Lester,
and his sisters Sophie Rehling, and Martha Jarnot. |

Charles E. Krauth
March 2nd, 1925 - August 8th, 2007

Charles Krauth,
82, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at
Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND. Charles E. Krauth was
born March 2, 1925 at Hebron, ND, the son of Kurt H. and Idah
(Johnson) Krauth. He attended school at Hebron and graduated
from Hebron High School in 1943.
Charles entered the U. S. Army June 9, 1943 and served in the
European Theatre of Operations as an Army Medic. He participated
in the D-Day operations. His unit also served as POW camp
guards. He was discharged April 9, 1946 and returned to North
Dakota. He attended the University of North Dakota in 1946.
On September 1, 1946, Charles married Charlotte Rusch in
Jamestown, ND, and they made their home in Hebron, ND where
Charles was an insurance agent. In 1953, they moved to
Jamestown, ND where he worked for the United States Postal
Service. Charles retired in 1975 after 22 years of service. He
worked for Everetts & Associates from 1975 until 1981.
Charles was a member of The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown,
ND; the American Legion Post 100, Hebron, ND; the VFW Post 760,
Jamestown, ND and a lifetime member of the Jamestown Elks Lodge.
He enjoyed golf, baseball and football.
Survivors include his wife and two daughters -Connie Krauth, St.
Louis Park, MN and Maxine (Mark) Lecy, Eden Prairie, MN. He also
leaves one grandson, Patrick Lecy, Eden Prairie, MN; a brother
Kenneth (Lois) Krauth, Concord, CA and two sisters - Carol
(Harry) Krieg, Central Point, OR and Karen Krauth, Bismarck, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kermit.
His funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 13,
2007 at The Basilica Of St. James, Jamestown, ND A prayer
service was held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Lisko
Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND

Norman Imhoff

Norman
Imhoff, age 78, of Hebron, died Saturday, July 07, 2007 while a
patient at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Funeral services will be
held at 10:30 AM Central Time on Monday, July 9, 2007 at the
First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hebron with
Pastor Marcy Dawson, officiating. Burial will be beside his
beloved wife Dorothy in the First Congregational Cemetery in
Hebron. Military rites will be by Henry Biffart Post #100.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8:30 PM at Spangelo Funeral
Home in Hebron with sharing of memories at 8:00 pm. There will
be no visitation at the church.
Norman was
born August 14, 1928, at Bismarck, ND, the son of Alvin and Dora
(Feil) Imhoff. He was raised near Hebron and educated at Hebron
School. He entered the US Army and served in Korea. He was one
of 12 in the whole Battalion to survive the conflict. Norman
returned home and took over the farm, which he still operated,
until he entered the hospital earlier this week. He was a member
of the First Congregational Church, Hebron Brick City Senior
Citizens, and the Henry Biffart Post #100 of the American
Legion.
He is
survived by his step son: Clyde Ding, of Dallas, TX; four step
grandsons; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by
one brother: Wilbert (Mavis) Imhoff, Bismarck, ND; and one
sister Birdie Brettin, in Wyoming, and several nieces and
nephews.
He was
preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dorothy.

Myron (Jim) Spitzer

Myron
“Jim” Spitzer, age 77 of Hebron, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at
the Richardton Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial will
be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 10:00 Central Time at St.
Ann’s Catholic Church in Hebron. Visitation will be held on
Monday after 4:00 pm at the church with vigil services at 7:00
PM. Military Rites will be held in Hebron by the Henry Biffart
Post # 100 of the American Legion. Burial will be held in the
North Dakota Veterans Cemetery rural Mandan.
Jim was born January 31,
1930 on a farm in rural Baldwin the son of Laundina (Spitzer)
Kemph. He was raised in Bismarck and attended Bismarck High and
Bismarck State College before graduating from Bemidji State
University with a teaching degree in social studies and physical
education. He married Dolores Weinberger, August 21, 1954 at
Mandan. Jim began his teaching career at Stirum, ND. In 1956 he
moved to Tappen, where he assumed the athletic administrators
duties as well as teaching, and coaching. In 1961 Jim accepted a
teaching and coaching position in Hebron, ND. While his
contributions to the teams and individual athletes in
basketball, baseball and track were significant, it was football
where Jim and the Brickmakers made their mark. His teams posted
an impressive 24 consecutive game winning streak and two
undefeated seasons, racking up five conference titles during his
tenure as head coach. He was recognized several times in his
educational career, as Coach of the Year and Driver Education
Teacher of the Year, and was nominated to the North Dakota
Football Coaches Hall of Fame, and inducted into the North
Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Hall
of Fame. He retired from teaching in 1990 after 29 years in the
Hebron School District. Jim’s hobbies include hunting for trophy
deer, fishing, gardening, and his beautiful array of flowers.
Jim’s contributions to the
Hebron community were many, from leading the drive to rebuild
the Rec Complex in Hebron, to serving with the Lions for over 25
years. He was the Chairman of the Fall Festival for many years,
as well as serving as President and Secretary of the Lions. Jim
was a lifetime member of the Elk, and a 45 plus year member of
the American Legion.
The military played an
important role in Jim’s life; he served in the US Air Force for
three years and was a 28 year member of the North Dakota
National Guard, and the United States Army Reserve. Jim was an
instructor at the Army Engineering School in Ft. Belvoir, VA; at
the US Army Command General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth,
KS; and at the University of Nevada- Reno. Jim’s military career
ended in 1982 when he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Those most grateful for
having shared in his life are his wife of 53 years, Dolores,
Hebron; four daughters: Colleen (Steve) Crowell, Gillette, WY;
Karen Spitzer, LaCrosse, WI; Jimmie (Donovan) Johnson,
Breckenridge, MN; and Kim (Kevin) Erickson, of Fargo. Jim also
leaves seven granddaughters of whom he was so proud; Stephanie,
Katie, Avri, Kelsey, Tara, Shauna, and Ashley, and finally one
great grandson: Dino James. Jim was preceded in death by his
mother.

Theodore (Ted) Fischer
September 7, 1928 - January 21, 2007

Theodore Fischer, age 78 of Hebron, ND, known to everyone as
"Ted", died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the St. Joseph Hospital
in Dickinson, ND. Funeral services will be held on Thursday,
January 25, 2007 at 10:00 AM Central Time at the First Baptist
Church in Hebron. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:30
until 8:00 pm at Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron with a prayer
service at 7:00. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans
Cemetery, in rural Mandan, ND 1:00 PM Thursday.
Ted was born September 7, 1928 in Dickinson, ND the son of
Gottleib and Dora (Brinkman) Fischer. He was raised and educated
in the Hebron area. He entered the US Navy December 12, 1945 and
was discharged November 8, 1947. He married Anna Faye Scalf who
was the mother of their children: Fran, Dori, Bev, Barb,
Jerry and George. For most of his working life Ted worked in
road construction and mechanic work. In 1964 Ted married
Genevieve Dinius. He was a member of the American Legion Post
#100 and the Eagles. He is survived by his children: Fran (Gil)
Feigitsch, Bev Herner, and Barb Schantz all of Bismarck; Dori
(Ron) Mayer, Grand Forks, ND; and George, Hebron. Ted has 12
grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great
grandchild. He also leaves his brothers and sisters: Alma Elder,
Hebron; Dorothy Creel, Esther Swoboda, and Wilmar Fischer, all
of Spokane, WA; Roland Fischer, Mandan, ND and Norma Unruh,
Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife
Faye, his wife Genevieve in 1984, and his son Jerry.

William "Bill" Schweigert

William
“Bill” Schweigert, age 96, a resident of the Evergreen Inn in
Dickinson, formerly of Hebron, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at
the Evergreen. A family service will be held at 1:30 PM Central
Time on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006 at the Spangelo Funeral Home in
Hebron, burial will follow at the St. John Cemetery, in Hebron,
then on to the St. John Church for a memorial service at 2:00 PM
Central Time with the Rev. Martin Nussbaum, Officiating.
Visitation will be held at Spangelo Funeral Home on Sunday from
10:00 AM until the service time. There will be no visitation at
the church.
William was born July 28, 1910 in Karlsrube, Germany, the son
of Hebron pioneers, Fred and Lydia (Ewald) Schweigert. He was
raised and educated at Hebron. Following graduation he attended
Elmhurst College in Illinois, and later received his Bachelor of
Art Degree from Dickinson Normal School. He was a school teacher
for a number of years in the Hebron and Elgin areas, until he
was drafted into the US Army on March 8, 1941. Bill served with
the 188th Field Artillery during the allied invasion where he
was injured on the beaches of Normandy, France during the D-Day
invasion. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Following his
discharge on Sept. 30, 1945 he returned to the states and worked
in the Postal Service. Bill then worked for the state of Montana
in the welfare department until he retired and moved back to
Hebron to be with his elderly mother. Bill was a kind and
gracious man, who was much respected by his family and friends.
While in Hebron he was an active member of St. John Church and a
member of the choir for many years, and the American Legion
which recently presented to him a 50 years membership pin.. In
1993 Bill moved to the Evergreen Inn in Dickinson where he has
resided since. He is survived by his brother Frederick
Schweigert, of Solvang, Calif; and his sister Alma Barton, of
Greenville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him as
“Uncle Bill”. He was preceded in death by his parents, two
brothers: Walter and Paul, and his sister Hedwig Reimer.

Bruno Wehri

Obituary from Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron
Bruno Wehri, age 86 of Hebron, died
Thursday, May 11, 2006 at St. Alexius Medical Center in
Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May
15, 2006 at 10:00 AM Central Time at St. Ann’s Catholic Church
in Hebron with Father Sebastian Schmidt OSB as celebrant.
Visitation will begin at 3pm on Sunday at St. Ann’s where a
Vigil Service and Rosary will be held at 5:00 pm. Visitation
will continue prior to the services. Burial will be in St.
Clement’s Cemetery rural Hebron.
Bruno was born February 6, 1920 at Haymarsh, ND the son of
Albert and Eva (Seeberger) Wehri. He was raised and educated in
the Haymarsh area. He served in the US Army during World War II
in the102 Division. He met Irmgard Koenig while in Germany,
their friendship blossomed into love and they were married
January 28, 1946. Following the war Bruno returned to the United
States, but because of immigration laws Irmgard had to remain in
Germany another 21 months. They lived with Bruno’s parents for
one year while they helped out on the farm. They then moved to
the Fred Treiber west farm where they farmed for three years.
Bruno worked for the railroad stationed out of Glen dive for one
year, he then returned to the area and farmed on the Assumption
Abbey farm about five miles northeast of Hebron. They purchased
this farm where they raised their family as well as small grains
and livestock. After 23 years they moved into Hebron and
purchased the Brick City Motel which they still operate. For 19
years Bruno helped out at the Spangelo Funeral Home going on
hundreds of funerals and being support to hundreds of families.
Bruno enjoyed taking care of his horses, working at his barn and
visiting over coffee with the guys. He was a member of the St.
Ann’s Church, American Legion post #100, and a past Hebron
Business Club president. He leaves to share the legacy of his
love his wife: Irmgard, Hebron; two sons: Howard (San Dee),
Glen Ullin, ND; Gordon (Miyoko), Lawton, OK; and three daughters:
Laura (Jeff) Lowe, Bismarck, ND; Adele (Jerry) Sigl, Bismarck,
ND; and Mary Ann (Lenard) Luithle, Richardton along with 10
Grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He also leaves his
brother Leonard (Irene) of Hebron, three sisters, Sister Mary
Albert Wehri, Sister Catherine Adele Wehri, Merrill, WI; Alda

Harry Maas
May 21st, 1919 - April 12, 2006
Obituary from Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron
Harry W. Maas, age 86 of Hebron
died Monday, April 10, 2006 at his home under the care of
Hospice. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday,
April 12, 2006 at the St. John Church in Hebron with the
Reverend Martin Nussbaum officiating. Visitation will be on
Tuesday, from 3-8PM at the Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron, and
one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at
10:00 AM CT Thursday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery rural
Mandan.
Harry was born on the family farm
rural Hebron, May 21, 1919 the son of Gottlieb and Carolina
(Meier) Maas. He was raised rural Hebron educated at Farmer’s
Valley School #13. Harry was in the Civilian Conservation Corp
until he entered the United States Army Air Force on May 25,
1942 and served in the South Pacific until discharge on
September 6, 1945. Following his return to the area he farmed
with his brother Henry north of Hebron for two years. He took a
job with Boyer Electric wiring houses and then worked for Auto
Implement as a mechanic. On June 19, 1949 he married Eleanor
Fuchs at St. John Church in Hebron. In 1950 he took over the
Mobil Oil Bulk Service and in 1970 bought the service station
which he operated until retiring in 1997. Harry kept busy in
community affairs by being on the City Council for 12 years,
Church Council for four years, the Hebron Lions, and the
American Legion. One of Harry’s favorite pastimes was to play
pinochle in the early morning hour at the Wagon Wheel. Harry’s
long battle with cancer ended at home on May 10, 2006.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Eleanor,
Hebron, ND; His children: Wayne (Laurel), Saskatoon, Sask.;
Holly (James) Harrington, Lisbon, ND; Amy (Arden) Breimeier,
Oxbow, ND; Kandice Peterson, Marshall, MN; and Ivan (Kristi),
Wahpeton, ND: 10 Grandchildren and one Great Granddaughter. His
brothers: Gilbert, Bismarck, ND and Clarence, Fountain Valley,
CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers
Henry, Fred, Reinhold, and Theodore and seven sisters Elsie,
Sophia, Louise, Ida, Ester, Christine, and Margaret.

Dorothy Imhoff
July 16th, 1929 - November 28th, 2005
Dorothy Lydia
Imhoff, age 76, of the Marian Manor Health Care Center of Glen
Ullin and formerly from Hebron, died Monday, November 28, 2005,
at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Funeral services will be at 1:00
PM Central Time Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the First
Congregational United Church of Christ in Hebron, ND with the
Reverend Ken Trana, officiating. Visitation will be held on
Wednesday, November 30 from 4-8:30 pm at Spangelo Funeral Home
in Hebron with a prayer service at 7:30 PM Central time.
Visitation will continue on Thursday one hour prior to services
at the church. Burial will be held in the Congregational
Cemetery in Hebron.
Dorothy was born July 16, 1929 at Hebron the daughter of Jacob
and Lydia (Imhoff) Lennick. She was raised and educated at
Hebron graduated in 1947. She worked for Powers Department
Store. She married Albert Ding on June 6, 1948 at Hebron.
Dorothy was a faithful member of the church involved with the
choir and played piano and organ. Dorothy also played for a
Men’s Quartet that sang on Sunday nights on the radio station
KDIX. She worked in Dickinson at the hospital in the dietary
dept. for many years. In 1970 they moved to Dickinson, ND and in
1976 moved to Taylor, ND. Albert died January 12, 1987. Dorothy
worked at the clinic in Hebron for 34 years until she retired in
1994. Dorothy married Norman Imhoff, May 27, 1989 at Hebron.
Following marriage they resided in Hebron. She was a former
member of the Guiding Light, Order of Eastern Star, Past
Matrons, and the American Legion Auxiliary and a current member
of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Dorothy
entered the Marian Manor Health Care Center on March 1, 2004.
Dorothy leaves to mourn her husband Norman, Hebron, ND; one son:
Clyde Ding, Dallas, TX; four grandsons: Tommy, Christopher,
Jeffrey and Michael and three great grandsons; two brothers:
Albert Lennick, Clements, MN; and Ted Lennick, Edina, MN.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Albert,
two brothers: Wilbert and Theophile, and one daughter Nancy that
died in 1963. |

Clara Rehling

Clara Magdalena Rehling, age 90 of the Marian Manor Health Care
Center in Glen Ullin and formerly of Hebron, died Wednesday,
November 02, 2005, at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Funeral
services will be at 10:30 AM Central time Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005
at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hebron
with the Reverend Ken Trana, officiating. Burial will be in the
First Congregational Cemetery in Hebron. Visitation will be
held on Friday, from 3-8 p.m. at Spangelo Funeral Home in
Hebron, and for one hour prior to services at the church.
Clara was born Nov. 12, 1914 the daughter of William and
Magdalena (Eissinger) Sailer. She was raised on the family farm
26 Miles South of Hebron and educated in a country school. She
married Paul Rehling, July 11, 1940 at Wibaux, MT. Following
marriage they resided in Hebron where they raised their three
children. Following the death of her husband Paul, Clara worked
as a cook, did child care, and baked. Clara enjoyed crocheting,
playing cards, and visiting and baking for her family. She also
loved to entertain by playing harmonica, German singing, and old
time music. One of her annual highlights was when the
kindergarten class was learning the alphabet and got to the
letter Q, they came to see her Quilts, and she would explain how
they were assembled and finished. She also enjoyed her trips to
Montana with her niece Mary. She was a member of the First
Congregational UCC, the Guiding Light, and the Germans from
Russia, Hebron Historical Society, and the Hebron Senior
Citizens. She died November 2, 2005 at Medcenter one in
Bismarck. She is survived by her two children: Donna (Fred)
Duckwitz, Hebron, ND; and Kenneth (Judy) Rehling, Hebron, ND;
one daughter in law: Marlys Kienzle, Mandan, ND; Six
grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also
survived by her brother Alvin Sailer, of Elgin, ND. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Husband, (December 30, 1964),
one brother Ernest, and one son Victor.

Schneider

1917 - October 22, 2005
Emil
Schneider, 88, Richardton Health Care Center and formerly of
Hebron, died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Healthcare
Center. His funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. CT
Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Hebron, with the Reverend
David Ling, officiating. Burial will be held in the North Dakota
Veterans Cemetery rural Mandan, ND. Visitation will be held at
the Spangelo Funeral Home, Hebron, and Wednesday from 4 p.m. to
8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. and again Thursday for
one hour prior to services at the church.
Emil was born
January 2, 1917 in Hebron, son of Gottlieb and Eva (Sayler)
Schneider. He was raised and educated near Hebron. He worked in
Alaska prior to entering the US Navy October 20, 1942. Following
discharge on October 18, 1944 he worked on the west coast. He
returned to this area and married Martha Staiger June 8, 1947 at
the First Baptist Church in Hebron. They were long time farmers
west of Hebron until their retirement. They moved into Hebron in
1981. He enjoyed reading any thing in print and telling stories
to his grandchildren about his war years. Emil was a member of
the First Baptist Church and the American Legion in Hebron. He
moved to the Richardton Health Care Center in recent years due
to declining health. Emil is survived by his children - Diane
Schneider and her husband David Cohen, Juneau, Alaska; Gailen "Geig"
and wife Linda of Hebron and Dallas and wife Ruth, Hazen, ND. He
also leaves five grandchildren - Tye, Lacey and Trish Schneider
and Kendra and Kelly Schneider. Emil has four brothers surviving
him – Reiny, California; Robert, South Dakota and Stanley and
Roy, both of Hebron. He also leaves six sisters - Anne Metzger,
Ronan, MT; Adeline Reichenberg, Hazen, ND; Lorraine Weiser,
Shelbyville, TN; Elsie Schneider, Dickinson, ND; Rose Voegele,
Bismarck, ND and Helen Larson, Miles City, MT. He was preceded
in death by his parents, wife and two sisters Edna Drecksel and
Martha Staiger and two brothers, Clarence and Reuben Schneider.
Spangelo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Claribel Quintus,
89, Glen Ullin, formerly of Hebron, died Friday, August 19, 2005
at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 10:00 a.m. CDT Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at St. Ann’s
Catholic Church in Hebron with the Rev. Sebastian Schmidt OSB as
Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Ann Cemetery in Hebron.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, August 23 at 4:00 p.m. at the St.
Ann Catholic Church with a vigil service and rosary beginning at
7:00 p.m.
Claribel was
born at Fargo, ND June 12, 1916, a daughter of Joe and Clara (Schmaing)
Scheid. She was raised and educated at Leonard where she played
on the girls’ basketball team. She worked as a waitress at the
Powers Café in Fargo. She married Clarence Viestenz August 5,
1945. They lived in Fargo, Valley City and Jamestown. He died
September 22, 1967. Claribel worked at the Jamestown Clinic for
many years. On November 25, 1978 she married Edmund Quintus of
Hebron. They lived in Hebron where she was active in the St. Ann
Parish, Brick City Senior Citizens, Christian Mothers, American
Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles. Recently they moved to Glen
Ullin. She is survived by her husband Edmund, Glen Ullin and two
daughters - Virginia Eastley, Alexandria, MN and Elaine (Henry)
Ahlers, Milwaukee, WI and one son, Stan Viestenz, Fargo, ND. She
also leaves seven grandchildren - Shawn Eastley, Rebecca McAtee,
Tracy Potrzebowski, Dan Ahlers, Aaron, Melissa and Brandon
Viestenz and a sister Dorothy (Stenseth) Christensen, Kalispell,
MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband
Clarence and a son-in-law, Tom. Spangelo Funeral Home was in
